The Bay Area is at high risk for disasters. In the wake of a disaster such as a large earthquake, public safety professionals may be overwhelmed. As a result, people will have to rely on each other for their immediate life saving and life sustaining needs. The key to surviving and thriving after a disaster is education and preparation.
The Santa Clara CERT program provides 21 hours of classroom and hands-on training to help you become prepared. The Fire Department will offer this course (a series of six classes) four times during 2016. The February 2016 series begins on February 9th:
All classes will be held at the Santa Clara Fire Department Training Center at 1900 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara.
There is a nominal fee of $25 per person to cover class materials.
Additional information can be found on the City's website: http://www.santaclaraca.gov/cert/
