Board of Directors for 2010

Election of the Board

The Bylaws direct that SOFNA shall be governed by an elected Board of Directors. The Board shall consist of seven to eleven directors, including officers.

The 2010 Board will hold office beginning in January of 2010 and will serve the entire 2010 calendar year.

The fifth election for the SOFNA Board was held September 27th 2009 in conjunction with the annual Ice Cream Social, hosted by Debra Benovitz. The polls were open from 2 PM until 5:00 PM, but absentee ballots were accepted in advance of the meeting. SOFNA residents cast a total of 41 ballots this time.

The SOFNA bylaws also allow for write-in candidates. We had two categories of write-in candidates this year. The Advance write-in candidates were contacted ahead of the elction and asked if they would be willing to run. Their names were circulated via e-mail and posted at the polling station. The Day-of-the_Election write-in candidates were the conventional type of write-in candidates where the names were not known and therefore not posted or circulated in advance.
